Workload Analysis Tool
 | Informatica Systems is now offering the WAT for free to existing customers of Contract+. |
The WAT presents analyses and visualisations of clinically coded data, displaying interactive views of the aggregated data counts. This provides the practice with information about their clinical workload, which can be used to inform decision making and drive change. Practices within a local cluster or commissioning group can elect to share aggregated data and to run similar analyses across the group using a web-based interface.
The WAT offers practices real-time information about their clinical activity, which helps them to develop strategic plans for optimising clinical workload distribution, improving the cost-effectiveness of their services and developing their workforce potential.
Newham Health Partnership
Janet Bell, the WAT project manager, has been working with a practice based commissioning cluster of practices in Newham. She describes the project and how this tool has been used , “Over the last few months the WAT has been installed in thirty-three practices in the Newham Health Partnership; the residents of Newham have significantly worse health than the English national average and the health challenges are enormous. The WAT has been a catalyst for improving the quality of data in many smaller practices. By improving the accuracy of data on the clinical treatment of patients, information on current practice workload can help inform the commissioning of new services that better meet the needs of local residents. This will ultimately improve health outcomes”.
